Hello everyone, sorry it’s been a while since we last spoke our club events. We have a lot to catch up on!
Firstly, it’s been a fabulous start to the year for the club. We have seen 3 of our teams competing in their regional competitions and starting to win games. Well done to the Under 13’s, Under 15’s and seniors for putting in some great performances. Our player registrations are increasing each week due to the expansion of training hours last year so now we’re really starting to see the benefits of creating more time for skating and hockey. We have also decided to launch a new women’s team who have been training together in readiness for their NCRHA cup games in a couple of months time. We want more girls to participate in the sport so come and give it a try.
Callum Croad, Gemma Thomas and Jack Frith have also been asked to be a part of the NCRHA regional squads to compete in a national tournament against the best kids in the country. It’s a huge pat on the back not only for their hard work but also their commitment to pushing themselves in practise each week. We wish you all the best of luck and we’ll hopefully see some more of our young Wildcats joining them soon.
The club would also like to thank Kelly Roberts for joining the coaching setup and for her great work in the beginners session. We’ve all been very impressed with her ideas and enthusiasm to help grow the session into the success it undoubtedly is. Well done Kelly!
Lastly but not least we reserve the biggest congratulations to our chairman Keith Whitton who picked up another Shiregreen Community Award for his contribution to kids sport in the area. Keith works relentlessly for the club to raise funds, coach kids and help raise the profile and benefits of playing sport to the local area. We couldn’t be more proud of him and his enthusiasm elevates our club and helps make it the positive place we all love. Thanks Keith!
We should also say thank you to the Sheffield Star for such a lovely write up and for their support for what we do.
