Kids competitions

With each week the Get Active sessions have been growing from strength to strength. We’re now more than two thirds of the way through our initial twenty week Big Lottery funded taster sessions for children from all over the Sheffield region. Everyones skating and stick skills are improving dramatically in what has been a relatively short space of time and most of all everyone is having a lot of fun.

The question we’re asked a lot at training by kids and parents is when are we going to play games. So here we go, your wish is our command! Over the coming months we’ll be arranging novice player get togethers with local teams to test our wits and skills against other kids from clubs in the region. The first one will be at our home, the Concord, in Sheffield the first weekend of June. It will coincide with our Elite League tournament on the Sunday which will also be followed by a Roller Disco for all. More details of this exciting weekend of Roller Hockey will follow shortly.

Also our friends at Cottenham Roller Hockey Club in Cambridge are celebrating their 10th year birthday with a novice competition and our kids have been invited to take part in the celebrations. The tournament takes place on the 3rd September in Cottenham so over the coming weeks we’ll be working out the finer details with parents of all interested kids. We’ll also be posting more info as soon as we have some so keep a look out for that.

Everyone at the Sheffield Wildcats send a massive thank you to Cottenham for inviting us and we can’t wait to see you all in September!
